ET Day!

Another infertility abbreviation - ET stands for embryo transfer. And today is the day that the embryos that resulted in Justin were transferred into me! It happened at about 10:30 am - so I was unofficially pregnant - hopefully one would decide to stick around for nine months or so! Since we had all the failed iuis (intra uterine insemination) and the two failed IVFs (in vitro fertilization) we decided to go for it and transferred 5 embryos. Two were 8-cell and of very good quality - one a 5 and one a 4.5 on a scale of 1-5, one was okay quality - 7 cell and a 4, and two were poor quality - 6 cell and a 3.5. In some of them you can see smaller cells around the edges - these embryos are moving into the next stage of development - and are almost blastocysts! Now begins what the infertility girls call the 2ww - the two week wait until the pregnancy test. This is where we over analyze every twinge and symptom of pregnancy!

It is so amazing that one of these is Justin and we will never know which one. To look at these pictures and then at him - it just blows my mind! What a true miracle all babies are! It will be so neat to share all of this with him - and Brian and Sean when they are old enough to understand! These are pictures of our actual embryos!

I think this one is Justin - not sure why!
