We had a fun-filled family New Year's Eve. First we went rolling skating with some of the boys' friends. A local rink had a kids party from 1-4 pm. The kids got a soda and pizza or hot dog, skating, five tokens, noise makers, hats, and balloons from a countdown and balloon drop. We all had a great time. The boys were tired from the skating and we had a relaxing evening.
First we had some dinner - scrambled egg sandwiches! Sean's choice! Then we snuggled up and watched Rudolph's Shiny New Year. You have to love Happy with his big ears! Then the boys went running around inside and out with hats and noisemakers while yelling, "Happy New Year!" Sean then added, "I love to be naked." I have no idea what that has to do with New Years Eve. Maybe Mardi Gras but not New Year's Eve. I wonder if any neighbors heard? They probably thought that some crazy drunk people were about three hours early for midnight!
They were also screaming Happy New Year at cars that drove by. Justin was watching them closely and looking at them like they were crazy! I guess he was taking it all in for next year when he can really play along with them. He did really like the plastic hats and tried to play them like a drum. Brian and Sean thought that it was funny to put a big hat on Justin and have it cover his eyes. He didn't think that it was so funny. He tried hard to get it off and flailed his arms and kicked his legs like crazy.
The boys wanted their Dad to have a sleepover with them and sleep in their room. He agreed, which I probably wouldn't have done. This points out one of the major differences between moms and dads. And the kicker is that he slept on the floor! If the boys had managed to talk/guilt me into sleeping over in their room, there is no way that they would be in beds and I would be on the floor! I guess Sean would be on the floor because there is no way I would sleep on the top bunk either! Yea for dads - but so glad I'm a mom!
