Movin' On Up!

I broke down and called our adoption agency today. The update last week was quite depressing and I just wanted to talk to someone. I did last month also, and it made me feel so much better after. The woman I spoke with was so nice and very understanding!

Even though the update did not show them moving up a month, there were referrals for healthy girls coming in and we did move up on the list! I am not allowed to post where we are on the list, but we are very close to the #1 spot!!! I really hope that our call comes this month!

End of Flag Football

Today was Brian's last flag football game. They were playing the best team in the league and I expected a complete blow-out. But our team surprised me, and really held their own. I think that they only lost by about 9 points! If you had seen our team you would know what an accomplishment that was against a team so good!

Brian had a good season despite his team not doing so well overall. He learned a lot and improved his skills. So, for him individually it was a great season!

Yard Sale

We had great weather for our town-wide yard sale today! The boys were a huge help and didn't complain much at all about the toys we were selling. They both did get one "save"! It had to be no larger than 12" X 12" though - no big things back in the house! We got rid of a ton of stuff and made about $130! I made a pact with myself that whatever was in the driveway for the sale would not come back into the house! We left the stuff at the top of the driveway for that night and Sunday too and actually made another $20!

Monday morning, I took another van load to Goodwill! Yea for space in my house!!!!

Alien or Dog?

What do you think? Did aliens capture Roc and then return to Earth disguised as our dog?

Fun in the Tub!

Justin and Sean had so much fun in the tub tonight! Brian has decided that bath time is a bit crowded and is now a regular in the shower by himself. I don't blame him at all! The younger guys were just laughing and splashing the whole time - my bathroom was soaked but their laughter was priceless!

June Update

We got our monthly update from our adoption agency tonight. And, it wasn't good news. There has not been much movement in the month of May for girls. I am starting to feel like this adoption will never happen....I know it will, but I am so tired of waiting!!!

Nesting Fest

The shelves that were just finished yesterday are the tip of the iceberg for me. I have so many things on my to-do list, or should I say lists! After the shelves, I hung a shelf and clothes rack in the basement. I put pull-out drawers in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I put shelves along the wall of my basement steps. I cleaned out all the closets and all of the drawers.

I organized all of the the kitchen cabinets and the pantry. I cleaned out the refrigerator and the freezer downstairs! I got new shades and cafe rods for the boys' room and fixed their valance curtains. We got a new, more spacious, hutch for the dining room. I threw out about fifteen 40-gallon trash bags of junk and gave another fifteen to Goodwill. Plus, we had another garage full of stuff ready for a yard sale!

Gosh, it feels good to get rid of all the unneeded stuff! I feel like my house is finally coming together and my mind can be at rest! When I am finished, there will not be one inch of this house that has not been cleaned and organized! I cannot wait!!!

Shelves, Shelves, and More Shelves!!!

I have been trying to make a list of projects to be done before we add another baby to this house. One of the big ones was to build shelves in the garage for storage totes. That way, I can get them out of the basement and have more room down there - and more organization! Brian's friend Rich provided the tools and the know-how, and we provided the help.

Everything went well, and I am extremely pleased with the finished product! It was giddy, it was like Christmas morning for me. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I thrive on order and neatness. Chaos and disorder make me uneasy. I know, funny for me being in a houseful of rough-housing boys!!!

I cannot wait to fill the shelves!!!!
