Eagles Camp

Eagles camps was so great, even though we had to get up at 5 am! The boys really enjoyed meeting some players and also the fun kid activities. They had moon bounces, police motorcycles and horses, an armored emergency response truck, games, prizes, and more! We didn't get to see too much of the practice, which was a bit disappointing. They were very strict about where you could and couldn't stand - and there were so many people there!

Steel Pier

We went to Steel Pier in Atlantic City today. It was Holt Day (our adoption agency) - the kids got to ride for free! We saw lots of adoptive families and it was neat for the kids to witness that. They had so much fun on the rides, although Sean was a bit disappointed that he was too tall to go on some of the kiddie rides!

Blankie

Sean is closing in on 6 years old, and still really attached to his Blankie. I really thought he would have left it behind by now, or at least in his bed. He has gotten a bit better and we don't allow him to bring it out of the house any more. Well, unless he is spending the night away from home.

In so many ways, Sean is so big, and in others he is just a little kid. He really finds comfort in Blankie when his tired, sad, or mad. It, or He as Sean refers to Blankie, can instantly calm Sean. Blankie has been repaired too many times to count. Had borders added and taken away. Had holes sewn and ripped pieces trimmed. As the weeks and months and years go by, Blankie has become more brown than yellow. But that just shows how much he is loved!

Another Call to Our Agency

I broke down and called our agency today. Some days the wait is really hard, and it does help to talk to someone. Just to touch base. I know that no one knows when we will get our referral, but for some reason the calls make me feel better. It drives me crazy no being able to do anything but sit and wait.


One family ahead of us waiting for a girl "as healthy as possible" has been matched and is reviewing a file. So, if they accept the referral we will be one closer to getting our baby girl! We are literally taking baby steps forward!

Adoption Update

We got our monthly e-mail from the adoption agency today. It did have some useful information about what will happen when we receive our travel call, too bad we don't even have a referral yet. Things are still moving slow, but I already knew that. If things had picked up we would have a picture of our baby right now! Trying so hard to be patient!

Extreme Bowling!!!

Justin has taken bowling to a whole new level. He has become bored with rolling the little blue ball. Now he has made up a new game that we like to call extreme bowling. He sets up this pins in a straight line. Even after we have showed him many times how to set them up in a triangle shape, he still likes them in a line. Then he gets his wagon and crashes through the pins. And if he doesn't knock them all down on the first try, then he turns around for strike two!

He is so funny and so serious about it at the same time. He either counts to three and runs or says, 'get ready, go!" I have no idea where the 'get set' part went, I guess he is in too much of a hurry. This game fits in so well with his behaviour right now. He is a little demolition man and loves to destroy everything in his path.

The boys won't let him within ten feet of their Legos, and for good reason. I think is destruction goes beyond the usual trying to make sense of cause and effect. This kid just derives pure joy from watching things crumble to the ground. Maybe we have an explosives engineer in the making. Hide the dynamite!

Car Show

The big boys went to a car show today with friends at the Freehold Race Track. The boys got to see a lot of Corvettes, cars drag racing on the track, and monster trucks! They definitely liked the monster trucks the best. And Sean also liked the yellow cars! They had a great day, and experienced tons of male bonding!
