Little Thief

Justin was crawling around when he spotted Macie - our cousin that we babysit - eating her lunch. He got all excited and was huffing and puffing as he made a bee-line for her tray. He pulled himself up to his knees and decided to share with her. He stole a few apple slices and was so proud of himself. Luckily, Macie was a good sport - most nineteen month-olds would have bopped him one for this. She loves Justin thought it was neat that he was eating lunch with her!

All of a sudden, Justin has also started to eat more food. He even eats baby food now! I found that the secret is to warm it up a few seconds in the microwave! Brian and Sean ate all their baby food at room temperature - I got some funny looks, but it made it easier for them to eat when we were out - no warming required!

He is starting to get the beginnings of perfecting the pincer grasp - picking things up with only his thumb and first finger. He doesn't quite use them like a claw, but kind of uses his finger to scoop up things into his thumb! It is funny when he gets the food stuck in his palm. He grabs at a pile of puffs or something with an open hand, then he tries to get it all in his mouth. The problem is that he is still working out the kinks of getting his palm open on command! He gets frustrated but eventually rubs his fist around long enough that some food makes it into his mouth!
