Fertilization Report

Dr. Corley called us one year ago today to tell us things were progressing nicely. We had 20 out of 24 eggs fertilize correctly - which is above average numbers! Two fertilized incorrectly and had 3 pro-nuclei (PN) instead of 2 PN. One just didn't fertilize at all - which happens more than you would think and the last one was too immature to be fertilized. I found a picture to help - this is not my egg. So amazing that we all once looked like this!

this is a normal fertilized egg called a zygote
in the center you see 2 circles - these are the pro-nuclei
