Korea Adoption Guide

I went to get the mail today and there was a huge envelope from the adoption agency. It was the adoption guide and it has to be four or five inches thick! I covers absolutely everything - from the home study to finalizing the adoption after we arrive home. It even has sample copies of forms and papers we will receive.

Each new thing makes me excited and this will definitely pass some time reading it! One of the sample forms was a baby update. I didn't know we will get monthly updates on the baby from her doctor appointments while we are waiting for our travel call! We are hoping to finish the great paper chase by January or February. I feel lucky to already have children because some of the stress and the rush is not there for me. I feel like we will get things done and that it will happen. I am patient!

We have our finger prints back and our references are in. We have the boys' pediatrician letter, the boys' pictures, a nursery picture, and some other forms finished. We still need our adult doctor appointments and blood work and then pictures of us individually. Almost done! When this is all finished we send it in to be approved and then we get an invoice for our home study visits!

After we get it all finished we have to get a copy of the completed home study and then submit it to the government for more finger prints. Then it goes to Korea and we wait for a match. They said to expect about 9-12 months for this. Then after the referral is accepted, it will be about 3-5 months until travel - but it has taken up to 7 months! Ugh!
