We had another 'fun' trip in the car today. Brian is starting to read so well - and his spelling is really improving quickly too. All of a sudden everything is coming together. I cannot believe my baby is reading! Well, he was spelling different things and Sean of course has to chime in with his thoughts. He can spell Sean and he can spell Brian. He could actually spell Brian before he could spell Sean because he listened to his brother run around spelling it all day long.
Sean thought he was funny and asked us to spell things like G-J-K-U-Y-T-E-P. Then he laughed and laughed as we tried to sound it out. Brian asked how to spell sandwich and Sean says, "S-E-A-N-X-Y-Z!" Brian was getting angry about all the nonsense, so we told him how to spell it correctly. But of course, Sean was relentless. He spelled car - "S-E-A-N-L-M-N-O-P!" And tree - "S-E-A-N-A-B-C!" How about dog - "S-E-A-N-T-U-V!"
Brian Sr. and I were laughing so hard. It is funny to think in his world that all should begin with the letters of his name. He is still so self-centered, he thinks the world should revolve around him. I have noticed that he is starting to feel some empathy at times, but we have along way to go.
